New Downtown Sequim Development In Consideration
Sequim now has its own Commercial Real Estate Expert
Colleen McAleer, part of Team McAleer at RE/MAX Fifth Avenue, earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in San Antonio, Texas October 19th. CCIM designees are recognized as experts in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. Only 6 percent of the estimated 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but also why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry. Colleen is now among an elite corps of 8,600 professionals who hold the CCIM designation across North America and more than 30 countries.
During the last two years Colleen completed six courses with over 200 hours of course work in Washington, D.C., Seattle and San Antonio. Recognized for its preeminence within the industry, the CCIM curriculum represents the core knowledge expected of commercial investment practitioners. Following the course work, candidates must submit a resume of a minimum of $10 million dollars worth of closed transactions demonstrating a depth of experience in the commercial investment field. After fulfilling these requirements, candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive examination to earn the CCIM designation. This designation process ensures that CCIMs are proficient not only in theory, but also in practice. In addition, the extensive CCIM network and database creates an invaluable tool for commercial property owners wishing to sell or lease their property.
The CCIM membership network mirrors the increasingly changing nature of the industry and includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers and other allied professionals. Through this business network and through enhanced communication with the CCIM electronic network, CCIMs successfully complete approximately 156,000 transactions annually, representing more than $400 billion.
Colleen recently completed a Sequim commercial lease survey so that she would have a complete picture of Sequim commercial values. She plans to focus only on the Sequim market.
